Newborn "M" & Family

What a treasure!  I absolutely love working with newborns, especially when they are as sweet and smiley as little Newborn "M", only nine days old.  She was an absolute dream to work with.  Her loving (and trusting) family made the session run even more smoothly.  There is so much cuteness in this gallery, you really won't want to miss it!

The "R" & "C" Extended Family Session

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  This family did an excellent job coordinating colors for their extended family portrait session.  The weather turned out to be in our favor so we were able to take some shots at a nearby park as well.  Come check out all the cuteness.  There is a lot to see!

The "B" Family

As a parent of four children, I think that it is fun to be able to tell people that my kids are two, four, six, and eight years old.  I've never had the opportunity to have a one, two, and three year old though!

Christmas Photo Fundraiser

Thank you everyone who came out to support the Muphamuzi Baby Home at the Christmas Photo Fundraiser.  All together nearly $500 was donated to this ministry.  Here are some of my favorite shots of all the families that came.

The "T" Family

I met this sweet family at the Ever After Resale event in September.  Their little girl is so photogenic and full of personality.  Towards the end of the session we turned on some music to dance to, but much to our surprise we found that falling down is oh-so-much-more fun!

"S" Senior Session

This Senior gave me a good reason to break in the new lens.  We had a split session at Dawson Creek Park and in the Studio.  It was a little cold (okay, freezing) outdoors, but the sun came out just in time to pull out the shorts!

Christmas Photo Fundraiser For The Muphamuzi Baby Home (click to view more)

CHRISTMAS PHOTO FUNDRAISER

Tuesday November 13th - Saturday November 17th
11:00 A.M. - 3:30 P.M.

I'm so excited!  Christmas is coming and with that the chance to celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ!  To me, the best way to celebrate is by serving Him.  Is there a better way to serve Him than by blessing other people?

Earlier this year, a couple friends of mine packed up and headed out to join 1Hope Ministries International as the directors of the orphan ministry taking place at The Muphamuzi Baby Home in South Africa.  This ministry may sound familiar to you because I mention it from time to time.  Donovan and Heather Drew are both steadfast servants who seek to honor the Lord with their life.  The ministry they are involved with has the same focus and commitment to Him.

You can check it out by clicking on the link HERE.

All year long they are joining in the work of Christ by serving those who would have no chance at life without their support.  You and I have the opportunity to join in with them this Christmas.

This season is the time of year that photographer's absolutely love.  Everyone is wanting to get their pictures done in time to send out Christmas greetings to friends and family.  In the busyness of it all, I am setting aside some time for you to come get your photos done in exchange for a donation of any size to The Muphamuzi Home.

Sessions will be scheduled for 15 minutes each and will used for family photos only (I'm sorry, no individual shots will be taken, but only kids together will be okay).  There will be a variety of backdrops set up for Christmas Photos and for Traditional Family Portraits.  100% of the money raised at this event will go to supporting this ministry to orphans in South Africa.

After the event is over, I will select the best shots from each session, work on them, and email them to you by the first week of December.  You will be given a copyright release so that you may use the images online or make as many prints as you wish without any charge from me.

I'm looking forward to this event and hoping to see many familiar faces!  There will be plenty of room for you to stop in when it is convenient for you.  Please take a look at the schedule below (I will update it as people reserve their spot) and email me to reserve a time that works for your family.  More details will be provided at that time.

Blessings!
Crystal Pettit

Baby "S" & Family

Supposedly this little boy sleeps like a rock.  I wouldn't know though because he was wide awake and fighting the Z's during our whole session!  I think I may have snapped ONE with his eyes closed.  It is a good thing he is just as cute with his eyes open.  He may not love the camera clicking in his face but he does SO love his family.  His aunt even got in on some of the action.  Come take a look!

The "N" Family

Meeting up with repeat clients warms my heart.  It's encouraging to look back over the years and know that your improving work has been appreciated enough by the family that they have come back to you.  I've had the opportunity to take pictures for this family since their little one had just started crawling.  He is one handsome little boy!  I'm glad that we were able to do this last-minute-session-booked-because-the-sun-was out!

I'm also VERY excited to do some more session now that my new lens is here!  Hopefully the sun will come out to play some more this fall before the color all goes away.

Baby E & Family

Who doesn't love pictures of sweet newborns???  I know I LOVE taking them!  The fun thing about meeting up with this family is that we used to be neighbors six years ago and didn't keep in touch when we both moved from the neighborhood.  That's how life goes, isn't it?  I marvel at how people's lives are weaved in and out of the lives of others.  I'm glad ours touched again, because Baby E and the whole family was just too sweet!  Click on the link below to see the whole gallery.

The D Family

It's always sad when the summer sun finally decides to leave Oregon.  Anticipating the oncoming rain, we were able to bump this session up a couple days.  I'm glad we did, because there is just too much cuteness inside this gallery!  Goodbye sun... I'm glad you decided to be friendly one last day!

Miss H. Senior Session

I'll admit I was a little out of my element during this graduate session.  The things I do to get little ones to smile don't usually work on graduates... that is, unless they are nice enough to give me a pity laugh.  Thanks for bearing with me, Miss H.!  It was a delight taking your pictures and working on your gallery.  Exciting times are ahead for you!

The B Family

It was so much fun working on these pictures that I'm a little sad that I am done with the gallery!  Their fun, carefree style kept me on my toes the whole session.  Especially, the little guy who was full of all that youthful energy.  Taking pictures of children is so much more fun when they want to play with you!  What a treat.  There's a little extras surprise at the end of this gallery, too!  Come check out all the sweet shots by clicking on the link below.

The B @ Dawson Creek Park

It was another beautiful summer day in the NW.  Beautiful... as in sunny and hot one minute, then cloudy and cold, with thunder and sprinkles the next minute.  That's how it goes in these parts.  Despite the challenging conditions, you just can't complain when you have a photo session with the Burleys!  Each year is a little more fun.  This year, the littlest one pulled out her poker face for me, but we managed to get her to crack a smile for a bit.  Straight faced or smiling, she is just as cute!

Ever After Resale Event

*UPDATE*

Yay!  I've had some more parents agree to let me post their kids' pictures!  I'll be adding them to the bottom of this post as they are finished.  Slowly and surely, I'll get them all to the awaiting parents.  Now I'm off to wrapping up a couple family galleries, trying to catch up from the two week loss of a computer!

Check out the latest additions below...

Today I had a taste of what it would be like to have a walk-in photo studio.  I absolutely loved every minute of it!  At the Ever After Resale Event in Beaverton, 40 children sat in front of the camera for 5 min sessions.  The shots were free and none of the parents were under obligation to allow me to use images of their kids, but I simply could not keep from sharing this cutie with you all.  She was the last child to be photographed for the day and she simple melted my heart.  There were even moments I forgot I was a photographer in my business of oohing and awing at her sweet face.  Her mom gave me permission to share these images with you!  Isn't she adorable?!

I may be able to twist some more parents arms for more images as I work on them.  Every session had something precious to share!

:)
