May Update

There are some exciting things going on at Crystal Pettit Photography.  This post will just highlight a few.

1.  We have invested in a new camera!  I have been thoroughly enjoying the "break-in period" that I've had with it, and I am absolutely loving the image results this camera helps produce.  Here are just a few...

I've noticed a big change in image quality with the new camera, which leads me to highlight number two...

2.  Photographers, please don't stone me for this next highlight! I know I have been a disgrace to photography until now ;)  It's nearly been a year since I pick up the camera and started shooting professionally.  Since then I've become reacquainted with full manual shooting and now with this new camera, I have managed to find the courage to finally switch over to shooting in RAW format.  Again, I am loving the results.  Here is one of the first RAW images I have shot and worked on.

Besides the fact that this little one is an absolute doll, I love how shooting in RAW format provides for a real-to-life glow to the images.  This is perfect for...

3.  We are now offering Wedding Photography options!

Although these pictures were taken 3 years ago at my sister-in-law's wedding, I already have my first wedding booked this summer with more inquiries coming in!  And now with my new camera, I am especially excited for it!  Keep your eye out for the wedding photos!  My pricing is fairly competitive at this point, so if you know of anyone getting married soon, all weddings booked in 2011 will receive the special introductory rate posted here.  And since I'll be at the beach (of all places!) to shoot my first wedding...

4.  If anyone is interested in a beach session on July 29th or the 31st, please let me know!  I probably won't be offering a beach option for another whole year.  But...

5.  I will also be headed in the opposite direction for a newborn session in Bend on May 28th.  My schedule has some flexibility in doing a few more sessions, and since it is still May...

6.  The Mini Session Promotion is still going on.  It will close June 1st.  So whether you are in the Portland/Beaverton or Bend areas, you still have the opportunity to book your session!

If you have any questions about anything posted on this update, please feel free to email crystalpettitphotography@gmail.com and I will reply as soon as my schedule allows!  Thank you so much for stopping by!

Newborn Judah & Family

What a beautiful family!  I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity I had to snap a few shots of newborn Judah.  His mom and I have known each other since elementary school where we shared a 4th and 5th grade split class.  Being that we were a grade apart in age, our friendship didn't have the opportunity to really develop until years later when we were reconnected by attending the same youth group.  Over the years since,  Chelsea has become a very dear friend of mine.  Anyone who knows her would agree that she is a tender-hearted rarity.  What a joy it is to see that kindness being passed down to her children!  It was a complete privilege to share some time with her family and capture a tid bit of the love (and cute little personalities) they share.  And, boy o boy, what cuties those little ones are!!!
